Dementia Education Program Newsletter
In 2021, the McGill University Dementia Education Program and the Alzheimer Society of Montreal (ASM) partnered to offer The Sharing Room, a safe space for care partners to share about their experiences, to connect online with each other to break the isolation, and to engage and identify their own needs as care providers.
The Sharing Room offers different virtual support groups to care partners of people living with dementia (PLWD). There is a group for partners/spouses and another group for adult children of PLWD, and each group is offered in both French and English.
The group size is kept to a maximum of eight participants in order to give everyone ample time and opportunity to express their views.
The Sharing Room takes place online through Zoom and is facilitated by a trained moderator. Participants will have to commit to meeting with their group for 90 minutes over 6 sessions.
