
Research Project:
Hypersonic flight generates extreme aerothermal loads and surrounding plasma envelopes that can adversely affect vehicle thermal protection and operational performance. In collaboration with Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC), University of Ottawa, and Université de Sherbrooke, a novel thermal protection system is being designed and developed to provide active thermal management and enhance vehicle resilience within hypersonic plasma environments.
