Allana Mayer, School of Information Studies MLIS II student is the winner of the ProQuest Roger K. Summit Scholarship, open to LIS students worldwide! The Roger K. Summit Scholarship, awarded annually by ProQuest, recognizes LIS students who demonstrate outstanding interest or performance in electronic information services. The award is the equivalent of US $5,000 and will be presented at the Special Libraries Association (SLA) Annual Conference.

School of Information Studies alumna and Education Liaison Librarian Maya Kucij (MLIS '08) has been awarded the McGill Library's 2013 Librarian Excellence Award. The award recognizes a McGill librarian who has demonstrated excellence in academic librarianship and has shown efforts to improve library services through innovative practice, initiative and resourcefulness.

Guillaume Boutard, graduating PhD student at the School of Information Studies, has been awarded a major Social Sciences & Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) grant with co-PI Fabrice Marandola (Schulich School of Music).

Their interdisciplinary research project focuses on "Documentation, Dissemination and Preservation of Compositions with Real-time Electronics".
