Update on negotiations with AMUSE (casual employees)

Published: 25 October 2016

The parties met on October 14 in the presence of the conciliator appointed by the ministère du Travail.

The employer presented the results of the costing of the monetary demands submitted by the union at the last meeting. The employer answered the union’s questions related to this costing exercise.

The employer expressed concerns about the fact that the union’s proposal rests on a compensation structure different from the current one. Given that a conciliation process related to pay equity maintenance as of 2010 is underway, the employer proposed that any further financial discussions be based on the current compensation structure. The union said it would take this into consideration before the next meeting, set for October 24.

This update is meant to inform the community about ongoing negotiations and has been validated by the union.
