Results of 16th annual McGill Team Challenge track & field meet

MONTREAL - The University of Guelph swept both the men's and women's divisions, finishing first of 23 teams in each at the 16th annual McGill Team Challenge meet at Tomlinson Fieldhouse, the largest indoor track meet in Canada, Jan. 28-29. Nine meet records and one Fieldhouse mark fell during the two-day event, which featured more than 700 athletes.

Gabriella Duclos-Lasnier from the Sherbrooke Track and Field Club dismantled the only Fieldhouse record, clearing a height of 4.20 metres in the women's pole vault and beating the old mark of 4.06m by Heather Hamilton in 2009.
Zaria Stoffman was McGill's only medalist at the meet, winning bronze in the women's 60m hurdles with a clocking of 8.95 seconds. Teammate Sarah McCuaig finished fourth in both the 1000m (2:53.94) and 1500m (4:35.38).
On the men's side, the top Redmen finisher was Jean-Philippe Garant, who placed seventh in the high jump (1.80m). Daniel Kramer was eighth in the 1000m (2:30.24) and Joseph Ariwi was eighth in the high jump (6.34m). The Redmen 4x200 also finished eighth (1:33.69).
