Published: 19 September 2009

MONTREAL -- Michael Hibberd, Adrien Dupont and Spencer Mackoff each swept their singles and doubles matches as the McGill men's tennis team cruised to an easy 7-0 victory over the UOIT Ridgebacks on Saturday at Uniprix Stadium in Montreal.

In doubles play, the Redmen took the first point of the fixture by winning all three matches comfortably.

In singles, McGill swept all six matches. Hibberd, the No.1-seed, had difficulty finding his rhythm throughout his match. Serving at 6-5, his opponent had a chance to bring the match to a third set but Hibberd managed to break back and take the win in two close sets 7-5, 7-6.

McGill's Yvan Bodart had the only match to go into a third set. After a slow start, Bodart raised his level of play to win 4-6, 6-3, 6-0. The rest of the Redmen had easy wins.
