Redmen explosion quells Queen's at Old Four tourney

MONTREAL - McGill exploded for three goals in 13 minutes to upend Queen's 4-1 in men's opening round play at the Old Four soccer tournament on Molson Stadium, Saturday. The Redmen will also meet Toronto in Sunday's final at 2:15 p.m. U of T advanced after dumping Western 4-1. Queen's will play the Mustangs in the consolation game at 10 a.m.

Ottawa native William Hoyle gave the Redmen a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute but Gaels forward Jordan Brooks of Angus, Ont., converted a penalty kick to even the score and set the stage for McGill's offensive outburst.

Axel Dovi, a fifth-year senior from Kinshashe, Zaire, connected for the game-winner on a penalty kick to snap a 1-1 tie in the 54th minute. Sebastian Munro, a sophomore from Vancouver, B.C., netted the insurance marker eight minutes later, followed by sophomore Winston Pool's goal in the 77th minute.
