OBIT: Football player Adriano Tassone

MONTREAL - McGill Athletics & Recreation sadly announces the death of Adriano Tassone, a 23-year old management senior from St. Laurent, Que., and a member of the varsity football team. He died in a car accident near his home on March 18.
Tassone, a six-foot, 186-pound defensive back, was credited with
10 solo tackles, four assisted tackles and a pass knockdown in 12
career games since joining the Redmen out of John Abbott College in
2005. A former multi-sport athlete with Loyola high school and a
rugby player with the Quebec under-19 provincial team, he was
scheduled to graduate with a commerce degree in June.
"What a terrible tragedy. He was such a super, young man and a
great teammate, one of the most popular players on the team," said
Sonny Wolfe, head coach of the Redmen. "He was so vibrant and full
of life at our annual awards banquet last week. It's hard to
believe he's gone. Our thoughts and prayers are with the
family."
Tassone is survived by parents Vincenzo and Sabina and his
25-year-old sister Liana. The family will receive condolences at
Centre funéraire Côte-des-Neiges, located at 4525 Côte-des-Neiges
road, on Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. A funeral service is
scheduled for 10:30 am on Monday (March 23) at the Basilica Mary
Queen of the World Cathedral (1085 rue de la Cathédrale) in
Montreal, followed by a private service at the McGill’s Molson
Stadium and interment at Notre Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery.
The family has requested that their wishes for privacy be
respected.
There is an online legacy book that people can sign and in lieu of flowers, a donation in Adriano's name may be made to the RIGHT TO PLAY organization by visiting www.righttoplay.com/adrianotassone or in person during visitation hours.
