McGill students big winners of a Quebec-wide scientific competition

Two McGill University students were the big winners of a Quebec-wide scientific competition this week. Faculty of Engineering students Yunlu Shen (civil) and Julie-Anne Denis (mechanical) both received awards of $5,000 from "Chapeau les filles! Excelle Science." The contest is organized by the Government of Quebec to recognize achievements of women who enter technical, professional and scientific disciplines. Participants are from the high school, CEGEP and university levels. Some 55 young women were honoured with awards of $1,000 to $5,000.
