STE. ANNE DE BELLEVUE, Que. - Rookie Krista Dunn of New Glasgow, N.S., exploded for four tries as the McGill women's rugby team shellacked Sherbrooke 94-7 at McEwen Field, Sunday, to officially ring in the new season of Quebec University Rugby League play.

Ten different Mart lets scored tries in a contest that had McGill leading 60-0 at halftime.

It was a good week for Dunn, a 17-year-old science freshman, who also received an invitation from the Canadian under-20 team to attend a three-day training camp in St. Jean, Que., Oct. 22-24. The five-foot-seven fly-half previously played for the Nova Scotia U-18 squad.

Fullback Brianna Miller, a freshman scoring sensation from Pointe Claire, Que., racked up 16 points, registering two tries and three conversions. Sophomore Chloe Duncan of Ormstown, Que., and junior Brianna Gibson of Montreal tallied two tries apiece.

Veteran fly-half Steph Lynam, a doctorate student from Beaconsfield, Que., added 13 points with a try and four conversions. Rounding out the scoring with single tries each were Stephanie Booth of Waterville, Ont., Sydney Black of Calgary, Katelyn McKellar of Elgin, Que., Kathleen Deckert of Brampton, Ont., and Toronto native Amanda Henderson.

McGill, which improved to 3-1 overall, including a 1-0 record in league action, will now embark on a three-game road trip, beginning with a match at Ottawa on Sept. 19 (3:30 pm).
