The Department is excited to welcome Dr. Lisa Starr to McGill. Dr. Starr moved to DISE from the University of Victoria, and is going to be strongly focused on teacher education. She is experienced in this area and completed her PhD on the topic, so will be well-placed to help us think about how to evolve our programs.
Dr. Starr is a former secondary school teacher who has worked in lots of interesting places around the world, including Pakistan, Kuwait and Mongolia. This has contributed to her interest in issues around identity and culture-- important aspects of becoming a teacher. We welcome her insights and her presence among us.
