Desautels Professors Dror Etzion and Jeroen Struben Place 1st at oikos Case Writing Competition

Professor Dror Etzion and Professor Jeroen Struben took 1st place for their case, "Better Place: Shifting Paradigms in the Automotive Industry."

The top five cases originated from UCLA Anderson School of Management, USA and Kellogg School of Management, USA (2nd place), Portland State University, USA (3rd place), INSEAD, France (runner-up) and WHU-Otto Beisheim School of Management, Germany (runner-up).

The annual oikos Case Writing Competition aims to promote the development of new high quality case studies in the field of sustainability management, strategy and social entrepreneurship. The oikos Foundation for Economy and Ecology at the University of St. Gallen established the Global Case Writing Competition in 2003 to create a body of knowledge about sustainable management practices that could be used by university professors at business schools around the world.

The winners of the oikos Case Writing Competition will be presented with a certificate during the Academy of Management (AoM) Conference in San Antonio (Texas, USA) which will take place on 12-16 August 2011. The prize for the 1st place is CHF 5,000.
