HAMILTON, Ont -- Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Julien Brisebois announced Wednesday that the team has sent forward Sam Bloom, a McGill graduate, down to the Cincinnati Cyclones, their affiliate in the East Coast Hockey League. He had been on a tryout with the Bulldogs.

Mathieu Darche, another McGill grad, remains with the team, which is guided by head coach Guy Boucher and assistnat coach Martin Raymond, both former players and coaches at McGill.

Bloom was with the 'Dogs for the beginning of training camp in Edinburgh, Scotland where the club captured the Gardiner Cup Championship after defeating the Toronto Marlies in the finals of the four-team tournament that also featured the Belfast Giants and Edinburgh Capitals from the UK Elite League.

Bloom remains under contract to the ECHL's Cincinnati Cyclones for the upcoming season.

The Bulldogs finish their pre-season tonight when they face the Toronto Marlies at General Motors Centre at 7:00 p.m. Fans can listen to every 'Dogs game on the flagship station of the Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Network, TALK 820.
