How McGill Bought the Dead Sea Scrolls

Drs. Jacqueline Du Toit and Jason Kalman will speak on McGill's role in purchasing, preserving and publishing the Dead Sea Scrolls. These 900 documents, dated between 150 BC and 70 AD, were found in caves near the Dead Sea between 1947 and 1956 and are of great religious and historical significance. The speakers' book on the subject is being published by McGill-Queen's University Press.
