Anthony Ricciardi, Redpath Museum and McGill School of Environment, on how expanding human travel and trade have allowed species to spread between continents and become established in all but the remotest areas of the planet, altering ecosystems worldwide and representing a form of human-driven global change. Dr. Ricciardi holds a Quebec Strategic Professorship and is a member of the Canadian Aquatic Invasive Species Network, a national research team assessing the risk and mechanisms of species introductions to lakes, rivers and coastal waters. He regularly provides technical advice on this issue to government and non-governmental agencies. Free admission, everyone welcome
