Erin Strumpf, Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health is among the experts quoted by the Montreal Gazette.

"…While those hires will help, “I’m not sure the mastodon of the health-care system will be able to evolve quickly enough to be ready for the next surge,” said Erin Strumpf, associate professor in the department of epidemiology, biostatistics and occupational health at McGill University. Health economists, she noted, argue the trouble with increasing capacity in terms of workforce or hospital beds is that those resources tend to be quickly used at full capacity, leaving little wiggle room in the event of a surge."
