Dr. Shaheen Shariff, who is a James McGill professor with our Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE), and principal investigator for the IMPACTS Project, was recently interviewed about cyberbullying and online harassment in an article for FLARE.
As a multi-platform brand, FLARE takes an intimate look at art, décor, film, food, literature and design, and provides perspective on important topics that matter to millennial women. Its award-wining content and innovative design celebrate Canadians with style and substance.
In the article, Dr. Shariff explains that individuals with intersectional or minority identities may encounter increased harassment - and also says that legal systems must find better ways to address the problem of cyberbullying and harassment, especially for women of colour.
