Please take careful note when appointing Postdoctoral Fellows on MITACS awards:

MITACS Accelerate

Canada’s premiere research internship program providing interns with the opportunity to transfer their skills from theory to real-world application, while companies gain a competitive advantage by accessing high-quality research expertise

• This funding source is awarded to a McGill Principal Investigator and administered by McGill University
• These funds are identified in Banner with a Fund Type of 2F (Research Grants)
• Postdoctoral Fellows paid from MITACS Accelerate grants must be appointed as postdoctoral researchers

MITACS Elevate

Provides a foundation of cutting-edge research, business, entrepreneurship and scientific management skills to newly-minted PhDs while giving companies access to a highly qualified uniquely trained pool of talent

• This funding source is awarded to a Postdoctoral Fellow and administered by McGill University
• These funds are identified in Banner with a Fund Type of 2E (Fellowships)
• Postdoctoral Fellows paid solely from MITACS Elevate funds should be appointed as postdoctoral scholars
