Using Research to Foster Sustainable Communities - Climate & Sustainability Roadshow

Thursday, February 25, 2021 12:00to12:45

Sustainability is a multifaceted concept. From the environment to the economy, everyone has a role to play in building a sustainable society for all.

Join the McGill Office of Sustainability and campus partners for the Climate & Sustainability Roadshow, a series of three webinars that will dive deep into the three pillars of sustainability--economic, environment, and social.

How can research and education foster a sustainable community?

In this 45-minute talk, Dr. Heather McShane (Program Director & Catalyst-in-Chief of the McGill Sustainability Systems Initiative), Dr. Blane Harvey (Assistant Professor, Department of Integrated Studies in Education) and, Naila Kuhlmann (Green Labs at the Neuro) will discuss how research and education in sustainability can serve as a transformative tool for our societies. Learn more about the importance of interconnected and collaborative approaches to solve environmental challenges, and how we can address environmental waste in scientific labs.

This session will highlight the Research & Education and Community Building categories of the McGill University Climate & Sustainability Strategy, and the platinum sustainability rating long-term target.

The webinars will be hosted live on YouTube. Submit your questions live or to sustainability [at] mcgill.ca

This event will be hosted in English.
