From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Tuesday, Oct. 8, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to McGill students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

J.R.R. Tolkien is best known for his fictional works set in the fantasy world of Middle Earth, including The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings series.

In honour of Tolkien Reading Day on March 25th, this display includes works by Tolkien himself, novels inspired by his writing, critical engagements with his work, and explorations of his contributions to fields like linguistics and theology.

The display was curated by Graduate Student Reference Assistants, Jenna Coutts, Lise Bourbonniere, Marianne Lezeau, and Sarah Wood-Gagnon.
