Dr Collins is a Lecturer in Environmental Sustainability at the Centre for Environmental Policy. She has worked has worked extensively with policy and practice decision makers, as well as NonGovernmental Organisations (NGOs) and community groups. She was academic adviser on the UK Department for Environment Food and Rural Affair’s urban ecosystem services project, which developed a community approach for investigating and integrating ecosystem services within decision-making. She has also provided advice for the US Environment Protection Agency and the European Union’s Scientific Advisory Mechanism.

Lecturer in Coastal Engineering and Management, University of the West Indies; She is a trained Civil Engineer and focused her research on the modelling of shoreline change and currently specializes in the physical and numerical modelling of coastal engineering processes, including ocean hydrodynamics, coastal morphology, coastal structural response and impact. She has developed specialized numerical models to investigate the physical processes that occur along a coastline.

She was a Coordinating Lead Author of the Small Islands Chapter of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Sixth Assessment Report on Impacts, Vulnerability, Adaptation, Contributing Author to two other chapters and an Expert Reviewer for the IPCC’s Special Report on Global Warming of 1.50C. Professor Mycoo is one of eight distinguished scientists appointed by the International Science Council to the Small Island Developing States Committee, elected VicePresident of the Scientific Advisory Committee of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s (UNESCO’s) Management of Social Transformations, and a Regional Engagement Partner for Future Earth Coasts, She has been a keynote speaker at over 50 global and regional conferences on climate change adaptation and urban planning.

As an applied economist, she has conducted research on and is widely published in issues of sustainable development in Caribbean Small Island Developing States, including climate finance and climate policy as well as the macroeconomic impact of disasters and disaster resilience.

Dr. Karl Payne is a Lecturer and Stream Coordinator for Water Resources Management at the Centre for Resource Management and Environmental Studies. Dr. Payne’s research is in climate-resilient water resources management, blending artificial intelligence, data analytics, and systems thinking to drive innovative, science-based solutions for small island developing states (SIDS). He teaches courses in water and wastewater management and surface and groundwater hydrology in the MSc. Water Resources Management taught masters. Holding a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Water Resources) from the University of South Florida, he has over ten years of experience spanning academia and industry, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop cutting-edge solutions for sustainable water management
