Integrating sustainability into your courses: a curriculum workshop for Engineering, Architecture and Urban Planning

 

Overview

 

TISED offered a workshop on integrating sustainability into the engineering curriculum on May 14 & 15, 2014. Led by McGill’s Teaching and Learning Services (TLS) and Dr. Cliff Davidson (Director of the Center for Sustainable Engineering, Syracuse University and formerly at Carnegie Mellon University), participating faculty members shared their ongoing efforts in integrating sustainability into the engineering curriculum, learned how to integrate tenets of sustainability into the curriculum, re-design their courses for enhanced student learning, and created a specific course plan during the two day event. The outcome of this workshop was to improve sustainability content within existing courses, which would make a significant advance towards enhancing sustainability into the engineering, architecture and urban planning curriculum.
