Remodelling 2nd floor of McLennan Library Bldg, Humanities & Social Sciences Library

We are doing remodelling work on the 2nd floor of the McLennan Library Building (Humanities & Social Sciences Library) to increase the number of shelves. We are also adding more group study rooms on this floor, to meet student requests for this space. There may be limited access to the 2nd floor during this project from 9 p.m., Friday, Dec. 1, through the weekend. Thanks for your patience during this improvement.

Nov. 27 - Schulich Library of Science and Engineering extended study hours begin

From November 27 to December 21, 2006, the Schulich Library of Science and Engineering will be open until 2:45 am for study. After regular service hours, access to the library will be restricted to users with valid McGill photo ID cards.

ScienceDirect China Collection: trial until Dec. 31

"The ScienceDirect China Collection is a series of prestigious Chinese science, technology and medical journals never before disseminated outside of China. AnthroSource: Database trial until Dec. 19

The McGill Library has arranged for a trial subscription to AnthroSource, "the premier online resource serving the research, teaching, and professional needs of anthropologists. Developed by the American Anthropological Association (AAA), AnthroSource brings 100 years of anthropological material online." Please feel free to give us your feedback on this resource.

Life Sciences Library to close early tonight

There will be a power shutdown in the McIntyre Medical Building from 8 pm to 9 pm tonight. The Life Sciences Library will close at 7:30 pm because the power shutdown will affect the emergency lighting system and we would like to be absolutely sure that everyone is safely out of the library and the building. Current newspapers now available on main floor of McLennan Library Building

Current newspapers can now be found on new display shelves located on the main floor of the McLennan Library Building, Humanities and Social Sciences Library. They are located in a room facing McTavish Street, around the corner from the current print periodicals. If you have any questions about accessing our print or online collections, please feel free to consult library staff.

SAGE Journals Online intermittently unavailable, Nov. 15

On November 15, starting at 5 pm EST, SAGE Journals Online (SAGE's online journal delivery platform) will be intermittently down; it is expected to be fully back online on November 16 with a new look and enhanced features and functionality developed based on feedback from clients.
