Canada’s most prestigious French-language learned society announced the recipients of its research awards on December 8 at its 77th virtual gala ceremony, the non-profit organization Acfas, l’Association francophone pour le savoir, awarded Professor Susanne Lajoie the Prix Jeanne-Lapointefor her remarkable contribution to education.

John R. Sylliboy is the recipient of the Kausattumi Grants Program Graduate Scholarship Award of 15,000 with the Atlantic Indigenous Mentorship Network for the second year. The award supports John in conducting his research with the L'nu'k (Mi'kmaw people) of Eskasoni First Nation.
DISE's Janine Metallic and Jessica Coon were recognized as "finalists" for the SSHRC Connection Impact Award, for their work together on Mi'gmaq, and continuing work to help support Indigenous languages and resources at McGill.
