Do you own a personal desktop or laptop computer at home? If so, you should protect yourself from unwanted intrusions and attacks. McGill now offers Trend Micro Antivirus software to replace Symantec Antivirus (SAV), whose license will expire in December. Trend is offered free of charge to full-time students, faculty and staff. Some of the advantages of using a McGill-provided antivirus solution on your personal computer include:

*    Automatic version upgrades as long as you are a member of the McGill community
*    Automated virus definition updates
*    Virus and spyware protection
*    Firewall and web protection for Windows platforms
*    Free technical support

For more details on this software, including where to download it and how to install it, visit the IT Knowledge Base article on Antivirus software for Students, Faculty and Staff.

If you are currently using Symantec antivirus software formerly offered by McGill, please note that the license expires as of December 6th, 2008 and must be replaced. Avoid leaving your computer vulnerable and protect it today!
