Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Technician (NOC 2255)

 

Technical occupations in geomatics include aerial survey, remote sensing, geographic information systems, cartographic and photogrammetric technologists and technicians, who gather, analyze, interpret and use geospatial information for applications in natural resources, geology, environmental research and land use planning.

 

BALANCE: Labour demand and labour supply are expected to be broadly in line for this occupation group over the 2017-2026 period at the national level.

 

For Technical occupations in architecture, drafting, surveying, geomatics, over the period 2017-2026, new job openings (arising from expansion demand and replacement demand) are expected to total 21,600, while 20,200 new job seekers (arising from school leavers, immigration and mobility) are expected to be available to fill them.
