McGill is exploring different options to support the mental health needs of Black, Racialized and Indigenous Students.
We welcome your input to identify the best supports for our students, and how we can tailor our existing services to our student population.
One existing service we have is our Local Wellness Advisors. Currently, we have Local Wellness Advisors supporting McGill students within different faculties and areas. To learn more about McGill’s Local Wellness Advisors and how they support McGill students click here. In this consultation, we would like to hear from you on tailoring this support to the Black, Racialized and Indigenous student population.
We want to hear your thoughts:
- What specific mental health needs of Black, Racialized, and Indigenous Students should each new Local Wellness Advisor be aware of?
- What new well-being resources and programming are needed to support Black, Racialized, and Indigenous students at McGill? This can be workshops, groups, one-on-one appointments, culturally appropriate resources, navigation of resources, etc.
- What are the ideal characteristics of the Local Wellness Advisors supporting Black, Racialized, and Indigenous Students?
- Where should your Local Wellness Advisor be located?
- What spaces should the Local Wellness Advisor be using to share information to reach students?
Please provide your input by April 6, 2023. Survey and consultations participants will be entered into a draw of 20 prizes of $100 each.
