News for Counsellors and Advisors
As in past years, for the Fall 2016 intake McGill will deliver offers of admission sequentially according to previous schooling “admit type” i.e., CEGEP, high school, A-Level, French Baccalaureate, IB, University transfer, etc.) As usual, the first offers of admission will go to those with the strongest academic records. Our selection process and standards are not changing.
Differently this year, McGill aims to make offers of admission to the strongest applicants about one month earlier than we have in previous years. Consult the following table for the estimated timing of admission decisions for selected “admit types”. Please bear in mind that this is a new initiative and that it is not possible to guarantee exact decision dates. For programs requiring specific prerequisites or additional supporting documentation, earlier offers may be limited.
Though students are urged to apply early, the application deadlines are not changing. Those who apply by the published deadlines will not be disadvantaged by McGill’s efforts to make earlier decisions.
