She continued on to civil engineering\, Master in water treatment a nd holds a PhD in urban planning. She has 20 years experience as a major p roject manager\, both in Quebec and internationally. She has worked on civ il and water infrastructure in Montreal\, and in growing suburbs: filtrati on plants\, treatment plants\, networks. She has also designed the natural ized pond at Montreal's Botanical Garden's tree house\, from a concrete po nd to an ecological and living aquatic environment. \n\nIn terms of city r esilience\, she was recently the project director of the Climate Change Ad aptation Plans for the Cities of Granby and Quebec City\, where each munic ipal department works on its adaptation plan and plans in an innovative wa y according to the new climate reality. At Arup\, she is now working on ne ighborhood resilience and stormwater management. She integrates green infr astructure to improve neighborhood resilience to climate change\, reduce f looding\, increase greening\, and reduce heat islands.\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\nL ogan Jones\n\nSustainability National Representative for Airbus in Canada \n\nLogan is an accomplished aerospace professional with over 15 years of experience\, specializing in the intersection of aviation\, technology\, a nd sustainability. He holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the Unive rsity of Alberta\, and an MSc and PhD in Aerospace Engineering from ISAE-S upaero in Toulouse\, France.\n\nCurrently\, as a Sustainability Officer at Airbus Canada\, Logan is responsible for coordinating the company's susta inability roadmap and projects. His role includes overseeing ESG regulator y monitoring and advocating for corporate sustainability goals. Prior to t his\, he worked on various safety and flight operations projects at Airbus \, focusing on areas such as flight trajectory optimization\, contrail mit igation\, fuel efficiency\, and runway excursion prevention. Logan is also on the advisory committee of the Waterloo Institute for Sustainable Aeron autics (WISA).\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\nChuck Ormsby\n\nSustainability and C limate Services Leader at Arup Canada | Co-founder of Le Bon Bac\n\nChuck Ormsby (McGill Civil Engineering BEng 2007\, MEng 2009) is an Associate at Arup and co-founder of Le Bon Bac\, a Montreal-based startup focused on s ustainable waste management and the circular economy. As a licensed civil engineer and Envision certified professional\, Chuck serves as the Climate and Sustainability Services Leader at Arup\, advising cities\, infrastruc ture owners\, and asset managers worldwide on achieving impactful\, pragma tic\, and viable sustainable outcomes. \n\nChuck's expertise in socio-envi ronmental stewardship drives his work in integrating resilience and sustai nable practices into urban planning and infrastructure development. His le adership at Le Bon Bac has been pivotal in developing a network of circula rity partners who see mutual benefits in the business and have rallied to support its go-to-market strategy. Chuck's insights and experience make hi m a sought-after advisor and speaker\, inspiring innovative progress towar d a more sustainable world for all. \n\n \n\n \n\nSophie Pelland\n\nPhysic al Sciences Specialist | CanmetENERGY in Varennes | Natural Resources Cana da \n\nSophie Pelland received a Ph.D. in theoretical particle physics fro m Cornell University in 2001. She worked as a Senior Solar Energy Assessme nt Analyst at Vaisala from 2015 to 2018\, where she performed probabilisti c modeling of the energy yield of utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) plants w orldwide and lead Vaisala’s R&D in this field. She was a Research Officer with Natural Resources Canada’s CanmetENERGY research centre from 2005 to 2014\, and rejoined CanmetENERGY in 2018 as a Research Scientist in the Re newable Energy Integration group. Her research interests include PV system performance and modeling\, solar resources\, and renewable energy integra tion into electricity grids.\n\nDr. Pelland is the Canadian representative to the International Energy Agency Photovoltaic Systems Programme Task 16 on “Solar Resource for High Penetration and Large Scale Applications”.
