Current research: 

My research aligns with the TISED's priority area for Sustainable Industrial Processes and Manufacturing. Specifically, we are engineering microbial systems for production of high-value/specialty chemicals, thus providing and clean methods for bioproduction of valuable compounds for a broad range of applications. Moreover, we engineer artificial pathway for synthesis of new-to-nature molecules that could have improved functionalities. Bioproduction by biological synthesis offers innovative solutions to the environmental challenges of chemical production and address issues of extraction of compounds of interest from natural sources from low amounts and intricate purification to seasonal variations and responsible land exploitation.
