Additional security measures for users of the legacy WPS coming February 4, 2020

News

Published: 3Feb2020

To all users of mcgill.ca/hr-webforms (including the ‘Staff Development Courses’) and the Business Production webform at mcgill.ca/business-production:

Earlier this year, a security enhancement was applied to the platform that requires all users to sign-in to use these forms. See original posting below.

On Tuesday Feb. 4, 2020, we're taking the next step towards making this system even more secure when we'll place the platform behind a firewall. Consequently, all users will be required to access the services while on campus or by connecting via VPN when off-campus.

For assistance, please contact the IT Service Desk.

Thank you for your understanding,

ORIGINAL Announcement posted January 20, 2020:

New sign-in security for users of the legacy WPS starting Jan 2020

Added security is being applied to the old legacy WPS that will affect all users of mcgill.ca/hr-webforms (including the ‘Staff Development Courses’) and the Business Production webform at mcgill.ca/business-production:

Please note that beginning the week of January 20, 2020, a security enhancement will be applied to the WPS platform that will display a portion of the page and require you to sign-in before seeing the full page load. Currently, users can visit these sites and are only required to sign in when they wish to complete an action or submit a request. The enhancement will still display the sign-in button at the top of the page as it did previously. This step is necessary to help protect and secure McGill data.

Thank you for your understanding.
