The campus divestment movement against fossil fuels

A growing divestment campaign aims to push universities into divesting their holding in the fossil fuel industry.

Supporters say its the fastest growing movement of its kind. In the U.S, Harvard University rejected the petition for divestment while in Canada, McGill University was one of the first to decide not to divest. In January 2014, students at the University of British Columbia are holding a referendum on the question. 350.org co-founder Phil Aroneanu spoke to Brent about why he believes the divestment campaign is an effective way to fight climate change.
