Time and Credit Limit for Completion of the BCom Degree

If you need 90 or fewer credits to complete your degree requirements, you are expected to complete your degree in no more than eight terms after your initial registration for the BCom degree. If you are a student in the Freshman program, you become subject to these regulations one year after your initial registration. If you want to exceed this time limit or want to exceed the minimum credit requirement for your degree, you must first meet with an academic adviser who oversees graduation and who will bring your case to the Academic Director, BCom program. A decision will be made regarding your extension and any credits, if any, at that time. Permission for exceeding the time and/or credit limit will normally be granted only for valid academic reasons.

If you wish to return to the BCom program after interrupting your studies for a period of one year or more, you must make a request for readmission through Minerva and also apply in writing to bcom.mgmt [at] mcgill.ca. When you are readmitted after a period of absence, you are normally subject to the program and degree requirements in effect at the time of readmission.
