Exigences du programme

Ce programme de 60 unités donne aux Algonquins, Cris, Inuits, Micmacs et Mohawks la possibilité de devenir des enseignants qualifiés. Il est offert à temps partiel dans les communautés autochtones du Québec, en collaboration avec, pare exemple, la Commission scolaire crie, la Commission scolaire Kativik et différentes autorités micmaques, mohawks et algonquines en matière d'éducation.

Les diplômés de ce programme du Québec obtiendront un brevet d'enseignement, délivré par le ministère de l'Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport (MELS), pour enseigner au niveau primaire dans les écoles des Premières nations et inuites.

Les étudiants qui auront satisfait aux exigences du certificat pourront présenter une demande d'admission au baccalauréat en sciences de l'éducation pour les enseignants titulaires d'un brevet d'enseignement. Ils pourront obtenir jusqu'à 30 unités d'équivalence de cours. Certains cours théorique de perfectionnement non assortis d'unités pourraient être exigés pour les candidats aux B. Éd.

Durée du programme

La durée maximale pour compléter le certificat en enseignement de l'éducation physique pour les Premières nations et les Inuits de 60 unités est de 12 années. L'Université se réserve toutefois le droit d'exiger que l'étudiant reprenne un ou plusieurs cours après une période de cinq ans si une interruption considérée trop longue a eu lieu dans le cadre d'une continuité au programme d'études.
