MORE Shared-Facilities Houses

MORE shared facilities houses offer students the privacy of their own bedroom along with the attraction of communal living, with large kitchens and common rooms. All undergraduate MORE houses are co-ed. All the houses are located no more than a 2 minute walk from campus in the neighbourhood known as the Milton-Parc Community close to the athletics complex, grocery stores, pharmacies, numerous convenience stores, restaurants and Montreal’s lively downtown.

This renovated brownstone houses 17 students in 5 double and 7 single rooms. It is located just steps from the athletics complex and next door to the 509 ave des Pins MORE House. 506 is a revnovated brownstone that houses 15 female and male students on three floors. The house features a decorative fireplace and two fully equipped kitchens, and is located on the west side of campus, near the athletics complex.

This three story MORE House has been renovated to include all modern amenities and comforts without losing any of its original charm. With high ceilings, hardwood floors and a brass railed central staircase, students love coming home to this classic Montreal brownstone. Located just steps from the athletics complex and next door to the 505 ave des Pins MORE House, it houses 19 students in 5 double and 9 single rooms.

522 Pine Ave. is a renovated three-story brownstone mansion housing 17 male and female students in single rooms. It features a sun room, an enormous common room, a billiard room and a long dining room table for communal eating. It is located just steps from the athletics complex.


MORE Housing features:

MORE houses are an excellent choice for students managing a budget as they can control their own food expenses. Please see Fees for details.
The MORE houses have 11 month long leases. The lease begins on move-in weekend and ends on July 31st. Those who do not choose to remain in the city during the summer months are permitted to sublet their apartments. Information on how to sublet is distributed to students in early spring.
Electricity, hot water and heat are included in the rent, as is cable TV in the common rooms.
Bedrooms: single size bed and mattress (most beds are loft beds), desk and study chair, dresser, bookshelf, night table, and vertical blinds (furnishings may vary slightly depending on room size).
Common kitchen: stove, fridges, microwave, sink, counters, tables and chairs.
Common room: sofas, chairs, coffee table and cable television.
Internet connection and WiFi is part of resident rent fees.
Telephone service is not provided by McGill. Students may purchase phone plans from an independent mobile service provider, or use pre-paid calling cards.
Although MORE Housing allows residents to shop and cook for themselves, students assigned to MORE Housing will automatically be enrolled in the oneCard plan with a base amount of $500.00. For more information on oneCard, visit

McGill Residences does not insure students' belongings. In case of theft, fire or flood, students must rely on their own insurance providers. Many home insurance plans offer benefits for students who stay in a university residence away from home - check with your insurer for details. Alternatively, ask an insurance company about their options for university residences.
