DESCRIPTION:In recognition of the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation\
 , the School of Population and Global Health invites students\, faculty\, 
 and staff to a day of reflection\, learning\, and cultural connection. Thi
 s event aims to honour the survivors of residential schools\, their famili
 es\, and Indigenous communities across Canada.\n\n\n	Date: September 27th\,
  2024\n	Time: 3:00 to 5:30 pm\n	Location: Room 1140 of 2001 McGill College\n
 \n\nThe event will feature two key activities:\n\n\n	Traditional Beading Wo
 rkshop: Led by Jenni Makahnouk\, she is Anishinaabe from Lac Seul First Na
 tion. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Arts - Education and Lifest
 yle at McGill University with a focus on indigenous storytelling and pedag
 ogy. She is working on numerous beading projects including Invisible India
 n and has several beading projects in exhibition in the McLennan Library t
 his month. This hands-on session will introduce participants to the art of
  traditional beading\, a craft that holds deep cultural significance withi
 n Indigenous communities. All materials will be provided\, and no prior ex
 perience is necessary.\n	Movie Screening: Following the beading workshop\, 
 we will host a screening of Wildhood\, a powerful film that explores theme
 s of discovery\, belonging\, friendship\, kindness\, family\, and love. A 
 discussion will follow the screening.\n\n\nA light meal will be provided d
 uring the event.\n\nJoin us as we come together to commemorate this day\, 
 deepen our understanding of Indigenous histories\, and reflect on the path
