 Speaker Bio:\n\nVardit Ravitsky is a Full Professor at the Bioethics Progr
 am\, School of Public Health Université de Montréal and a part-time Senior
  Lecturer on Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School. 
 She is the President of the International Association of Bioethics and Dir
 ector of Ethics and Health at the Center for Research on Ethics. She is a 
 2020 Trudeau Foundation Fellow and Chair of the Foundation’s COVID-19 Impa
 ct Committee\, as well as a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Scien
 ces and of the Hastings Center. She is a member of the Standing Committee 
 on Ethics of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and of the 
 Institute Advisory Board of CIHR’s Institute of Genetics.\n\nRavitsky’s re
 search focuses on the ethics of genomics and reproduction and is funded by
  Canada’s leading funding agencies. She published over 190 articles and co
 mmentaries on bioethical issues. Her research covers a variety of topics s
 uch as: public funding of In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF)\; the use of surplu
 s frozen embryos\; posthumous reproduction\; pre-implantation genetic test
 ing (PGT)\; gamete donation\; epigenetics\; prenatal testing\, in particul
 ar the ethical\, social\, and legal aspects of Non-Invasive Prenatal Testi
 ng (NIPT)\; germline and somatic gene editing\; and mitochondrial replacem
 ent. More recently\, she has been involved in research and policy regardin
 g pandemic ethics and was heavily involved in public outreach during COVID

  Programmes de bioéthique à l’École de santé publique de l’Université de M
 ontréal et chargée d’enseignement à temps partiel en santé mondiale et méd
 ecine sociale à la Harvard Medical School. Elle est présidente de l’Associ
 ation internationale de bioéthique et directrice de l’axe Éthique et santé
  du Centre de recherche en éthique. Fellow 2020 et présidente du Comité su
 r les impacts de la COVID-19 de la Fondation Pierre Elliott Trudeau\, elle
  est également membre de l’Académie canadienne des sciences de la santé et
  fellow du Hastings Center. Elle est membre du Comité permanent de l’éthiq
 ue des Instituts de recherche en santé du Canada (IRSC)\, du Conseil consu
 ltatif de l’Institut de génétique des IRSC ainsi que du groupe de travail 
 sur la génomique et la société du National Human Genome Research Institute
  des États-Unis.\n\nSes recherches\, qui portent sur l’éthique de la génom
 ique et de la procréation\, sont financées par les grands organismes subve
 ntionnaires canadiens. Elle est l’auteure de plus de 190 articles et comme
 ntaires sur des questions de bioéthique. Dans ses travaux\, elle s’intéres
 se notamment au financement public de la fertilisation in vitro\, à l’util
 isation des embryons congelés surnuméraires\, à la procréation posthume\, 
 au diagnostic génétique préimplantatoire\, au don de gamètes\, à l’épigéné
 tique\, au dépistage prénatal – en particulier les aspects éthiques\, soci
 aux et juridiques du dépistage prénatal non invasif –\, au remplacement mi
 tochondrial et à la modification des cellules germinales et des gènes soma
