From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to McGill students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

Equity Committee

The Department of Sociology is committed to promoting equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in our learning and employment environment, while preserving academic freedom and integrity. For more information about the mandate and aims of this committee see our Terms of Reference.

One role of the Equity Committee is to provide guidance to faculty, students and staff in the Department of Sociology who have concerns or questions regarding matters of equity, diversity and inclusion, in the Department or elsewhere in the University. In particular, we can aid in terms of finding the appropriate avenue and resources within the University for redress.

Faculty, students and staff are encouraged to reach out to any of the members of the Equity Committee regarding an EDI issue.
