McGill Rocket Team - Reaching New Heights!

The Pitch
Help McGill Rocket Team reach new heights through their student-made rockets and rocket engines!

The Highlights

With your help, we can:

  • Compete in and win the Spaceport America Cup in June 2020, the largest rocketry competition in the world.
  • Develop our firstever student researched and designed rocket engine and testing facility.
  • Push our members to their limits with unique challenges, building their engineering and leadership skills.

The Story

The McGill Rocket Team is a collection of passionate students who are dedicated to the design, manufacture, launch and recovery of rocket-related technologies.

Since its debut in 2015, the Team has rapidly grown to over 150 members and soared to great heights. Two years ago, we took top honours at the Spaceport America Cup, winning 1st overall amongst a field of over 120 international competitors.

We give students an opportunity to work on exciting aerospace projects and obtain hands-on experience in engineering and management. The funds we raise go towards our projects and competition expenses. We want to give as many people as possible the chance to experience a world-class engineering competition.

Some of the projects we are currently working on include:

  • A 30,000 ft altitude solid motor rocket
  • A 10,000 ft hybrid motor rocket
  • A rocket engine testing facility
  • A highaltitude bacterial sampling experiment
  • A ground station and sensor array for receiving rocket telemetry
  • Supersonic descent parachutes, sewn by students

With your support, we can accomplish these objectives and continue to have a strong presence at international competitions!
