World Voice Day Screening & Seminar

World Voice Day Voice Screening

Does your lifestyle or occupation put a high demand on your voice? Do you ever feel like your voice is sore or tired? Do you lose your voice after teaching, singing, coaching, a day at work, or a night out? Come to get your voice screened.

Questionnaire, perceptual voice evaluation and computerized voice analysis will be conducted. You will be advised whether you are at high risk for or already have a voice disorder. In case of such findings, you will be referred to our World Voice Day Ear-Nose-Throat doctor at MUHC for further medical consultation.

Date: April 8th (Friday) 2:00-5:30 p.m.
Place: Strathcona Music Building Lobby, 555 Sherbrooke St. W.

World Voice Day Seminar

The 2nd annual World Voice Day seminar will include singing performances, updates on voice research around Montreal, interactive vocal exercises, and information on how singing and music help to keep aging voices sounding top-notch. Local experts including an otolaryngologist and researchers from speech-language pathology and music will discuss voice in the aging population. The presenters will also answer questions about voice from the audience. There will be free voice screenings held after the seminar.

Date: April 16th (Saturday) 3:00-5:00pm
Place: Elizabeth Wirth Music Building Rm A-832, 527 Sherbrooke St. W.
