Major giving priorities

Major gifts represent larger-scale philanthropic support ($25,000+) towards specific projects or areas at the Faculty of Science. Major gifts help to build our teaching and research facilities, attract outstanding researchers, and support students through scholarships, bursaries, research awards and field studies stipends.

Named awards can be endowed or funded on an annual basis. They can be named after yourself, to honour a loved one or even to celebrate a beloved professor

Our current priority areas include:

  • Undergraduate Student Aid
    • Entrance Scholarships
    • In-Course Scholarships
    • Bursaries
    • Prizes
  • Graduate and Postdoctoral Fellowships
  • Summer Undergraduate Research Awards (SURAs)
  • Field Studies and Internship awards
  • Postdoctoral Fellowships

Other named or major-giving opportunities include:

  • Programmatic Support
  • Mental health and wellness
  • Research Chairs
  • Research institutes
  • Student space
