Project title: Gold nanorings on a DNA-viral template

Project description (50-100 words suggested): This project involves gold nanorings self-assembled onto a biomolecular template. The student will bind DNA to TMV coat protein, then use that DNA to attach nanoparticles functionalized with the complementary strand.

Prerequisite: 1 term completed at McGill + CGPA of 3.0 or higher; or permission of instructor.

Grading scheme (The final report must be worth at least 50% of final grade): 50% report, 50% lab work
