Project title: Neuroanatomical analysis of mesocorticolimbic dopamine neurone in adolescent and adult shhR deficient mice.

Project description: Work in our lab shows that mice lacking cdo, a shh coreceptor, exhibit differential numbers of th positive cells in adulthood. However, when this differential development takes place, is still unknown. The dopamine system undergoes major developmental changes during adolescence. Therefore, we plan to analyze the ventral segmental area and sn of adolescent cdo and wt mice in order to address whether or not cdo influences the development of the dopamine system during this period.

Prerequisite: 1 term completed at McGill + CGPA of 3.0 or higher; or permission of instructor.

Grading scheme (The final report must be worth at least 50% of final grade): Final grade shall be based on laboratory performance as evaluated by the research supervisor (50%) and the final written research report (minimum 10 pages) graded by the supervisor and the course coordinator or the coordinator's delegate (50%).
