2014 Undergraduate Research Conference

On Thursday, October 2, 2014, students from across the Faculty of Science will present their research projects at the tenth annual Undergraduate Research Conference (URC). A panel of distinguished McGill judges will adjudicate the projects, and certificates and prizes will be awarded. Following the prize ceremony and keynote address (see details below), the day will culminate with a reception for students and alumni. The URC takes place in the lobby of McGill's historic Arts Building; see below for the schedule. All are welcome!

Location and preliminary schedule

  • Thursday, October 2, 2014
  • 11:00 AM - Poster competition - start of public viewing and adjudication
  • 4:00 PM - Prize ceremony, followed immediately by keynote address (see below)
  • After lecture - reception

All events take place in the Arts Building [map]. The poster presentations will take place in the Arts Building Lobby; the prize ceremony and the lecture will be given in adjoining Moyse Hall.

Keynote address

Jade RaymondJade Raymond (Photo by Sasha Eisemann)The Faculty of Science is honoured to welcome distinguished alumna Jade Raymond (B.Sc. '98, Managing Director at Ubisoft) to deliver the keynote address at the tenth annual Undergraduate Research Conference. Her talk is entitled:

"Robots, Assassins and the Holodeck: How a science degree, unconventional decision making and a legion of allies helped build a dream job"

This talk is open to the public, as are the poster presentations. Come one, come all!
