Project title: Characterization of Cell Culture Models for Elastic Fiber Assembly Analysis

Project description (50-100 words suggested): The student will grow a number of cell lines to determine which of these cells would provide the best model of the study of elastic fiber assembly in culture.  Techniques will involve cell culture, immunofluorescence staining, and possibly Western blot anatomy and siRNA knockdown.

Prerequisite: 1 term completed at McGill + CGPA of 3.0 or higher; or permission of instructor.

Grading scheme (The final report must be worth at least 50% of final grade): Final grade shall be based on an evaluation of laboratory (or equivalent) performance (50%) and a final written report (50%).
