Project title: Production and Characterization of Novel Monoclonal Antibodies
Project description: The student will generate fusion proteins that contain epitopes from members of the inhibitor of apoptosis protein family. These will be injected into mice and she will confirm that these mice generate appropriate and specific antibodies. She will perform fusion of mouse-derived B-lymphocytes with SP2/0 cells to generate hybridomas. The student will screen those to identify specific hybridomas that produce antibodies against the cognate epitope. Monoclonal antibodies identified will be further characterized in a variety of immunological assays (immunoblot, immunocytochemistry etc)
Prerequisite: 1 term completed at McGill + CGPA of 3.0 or higher; or permission of instructor.
