Project title: Analysis of Ultrastructural Changes in the Murine Aortic Wall Following Smoking
Project description: The student will prepare and analyze aortic tissue samples at the light and electron microscope level from control mice and mice exposed to cigarette smoke. The study relates to human data that shows increased incidence of aneurysms in smokers. Mouse aortas will be sent from a colleague at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
Prerequisite: 1 term completed at McGill + CGPA of 3.0 or higher; or permission of instructor.
