 d of programming to complete beginners. The goal of this workshop is to ac
 t as an introduction to people who have never taken a coding class\, have 
 zero to minimal experience writing code\, and who are interested in learni
 ng! By the end of this workshop\, participants will:1. Know how a computer
  works – explaining components such as RAM\, CPU\, and GPU\, and how progr
 ams connect you to the computer.2. Understand what a program is\, how to w
 rite pseudocode\, and what an algorithm is.3. Acquire hands on experience 
 creating loops with Brilliant.com using pseudo-code blocks.4. Learn the ba
 sics of variables\, Boolean logic\, conditional statements\, and data stru
 ctures. Prerequisites: Basic mathematical knowledge (number properties\, a
 lgebra\, and equations).A computer with the ability to access the internet
 \, running a current version of Windows\, Mac OS X\, or Linux.Create an ac
 count on https://brilliant.org for the hands-on parts (the free version is
  sufficient)**IMPORTANT NOTICE: Attendance for graduate students and postd
 octoral fellows is subsidized by Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. All ot
