DESCRIPTION:Milica Miočević\, Ph.D.\n	Department of Psychology\n	McGill Unive
 rsity\n\n\n	Thursday\, November 12\, 2026 // 12 PM – 1 PM\n	EDUC 113\n\n\n	Me
diation Analysis: From Single Case Designs to Data Pooling\n\n\n	Abstract:
Statistical mediation analysis is a cornerstone of psychological research\
, offering a powerful framework for understanding how and\n	why interventio
ns produce change. Traditionally\, mediation has been examined in between-
subjects designs using a single sample. However\,\n	recent methodological a
dvances have substantially expanded its reach. New approaches now make it
possible to estimate indirect effects at the\n	level of the individual and
to synthesize evidence across multiple studies—even when those studies dif
fer in sample characteristics and\n	measurement instruments for the same co
nstructs. In this talk\, I will introduce these emerging methods\, illustr
ate their application using realworld\n	data examples\, and offer practical
guidelines for best practices in mediation analysis across diverse resear
ch settings.\n	Bio: Dr. Milica Miočević is an Associate Professor in the De
partment of Psychology at McGill University. Her research centers on Bayes
ian\n	methods and statistical mediation analysis as applied in the social\,
health\, and behavioral sciences and has been funded by the European\n	Com
mission\, the Institute of Educational Sciences\, the Social Sciences and
Humanities Research Council\, and the Natural Sciences and\n	Engineering Re
search Council of Canada. Her three research lines focus on: 1) optimal me
thods for using historical data and pilot studies to\n	create informative p
rior distributions for Bayesian mediation analysis\, 2) methods for synthe
sizing findings about the mediated effect in the\n	presence of important be
tween-study differences (e.g.\, samples from different populations)\, and
 3) mediation analysis in Single Case\n	Experimental Designs (SCEDs). She wa
s a Marie Curie fellow\, and she currently holds a William Dawson fellowsh
ip. For further details\, please see\n	her academic web page: https://www.m
