Dr. Salman Qureshi received his MD degree from the University of Alberta and then completed training in Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic, Infectious Diseases at the University of Manitoba, and Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Yale University. After obtaining a Clinician-Scientist Award from the Medical Research Council of Canada and a Burroughs Wellcome Fund Career Award in the Biomedical Sciences he pursued post-doctoral research at the Center for the Study of Host Resistance. Since joining the faculty at McGill, Dr. Qureshi has been an attending physician in Critical Care at the MUHC Glen Site and has directed the Foundations of Medicine and Dentistry INDS 112 Course on Respiration. Dr. Qureshi leads a fundamental research program at the MUHC Research Institute and Meakins-Christie Laboratories that studies host genetic and immune regulation of fungal pneumonia and holds leadership positions as Director of Adult Respiratory Therapy and Chair of the McGill Department of Critical Care Medicine.
